PRP/PRF therapy process.

1. 10-30mls of blood is taken from the arm as during a blood test.

2. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge, to spin the blood which separates the red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma/Fibrin.
3. Upon re-injection, the platelets release the growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to reproduce, stimulating repair, increasing volume and rejuvenate the hair follicles.
4. The whole treatment involves the tinniest of needle injections to the desired areas, requires virtually no healing time and reduces possible side effects to a minimum.

PRP Vs PRF

PRF platelet cytokines remain trapped and are retained in the fibrin/glycoprotein mesh, in addition to the circulating cytokines that are also found in PRP. The retained cytokines on the fibrin mesh offer a longer term slow release effect of these molecules. In PRF the cytokines are active over a longer time period during the injury site reconstruction compared to PRP.

So whilst both are highly regenerative, PRF offers longer term release of bioactive proteins.
