PRP & GFC for Hair

PRP & GFC for Hair Problems

PRP Hair Treatment entails the use of platelet-rich plasma or fibrin, both of which are enriched with vital growth factors. Moreover, these bioactive proteins play a pivotal role in initiating and accelerating the repair and regeneration of cells, follicles, and tissues. When injected into the scalp, PRP/PRF works its magic by stimulating healthier hair growth and rejuvenating aging hair follicles, ultimately promoting better scalp health.

Why?

  • Hair Regeneration: PRP Hair Treatment helps stimulate dormant hair follicles, promoting the regrowth of thicker and healthier hair.
  • Falling and Thinning Hair: If you’re experiencing hair loss or thinning, PRP therapy can be a game-changer, effectively addressing these concerns. Evidence has also shown promise in PRP benefitting hair-loss caused by alopecia, due to its growth and anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Scalp Health: It’s not just about hair; PRP Hair Treatment supports the overall health of your scalp, making it an excellent choice for conditions like psoriasis.
  • Pre and Post Hair Transplant Support: PRP/PRF therapy is an ideal companion to hair transplant procedures, aiding in faster recovery and optimal results.

The Benefits

  • Natural and Safe: PRP Hair Treatment is a natural solution, utilizing your body’s own resources. This makes it a safe option for most individuals, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions or side effects associated with synthetic chemicals.
  • Stimulated Hair Growth: The primary goal of PRP therapy is to revitalize dormant hair follicles. By injecting platelet-rich plasma into the scalp, it can stimulate the growth of new, thicker hair.
  • Combatting Hair Loss: PRP Hair Treatment is particularly effective for individuals dealing with hair loss or thinning. It can help halt the progression of hair loss and even reverse the condition in some cases.
  • Improved Scalp Health: Beyond hair growth, PRP therapy promotes better overall scalp health. It’s a suitable option for those with conditions like dermatitis, psoriasis, and an itchy or inflamed scalp.
  • Post-Transplant Support: If you’ve undergone a hair transplant, PRP therapy can accelerate the healing process and enhance the results.

What is GFC
Growth-Factor Concentrate (GFC), is an advanced form of PRP therapy. It involves the extraction of a highly concentrated form of growth factors from your blood. These growth factors are then injected into the skin or scalp to stimulate healing, rejuvenation, and regeneration.

GFC Vs PRP
The primary difference between GFC PRP and traditional PRP lies in the concentration and preparation of growth factors. GFC PRP involves an additional step in the preparation process, where the platelets are further processed to release a higher concentration of growth factors. This results in a more potent treatment, potentially leading to better and faster results compared to standard PRP.

FAQs

Does the treatment hurt?

Pain tolerance differs amongst individuals and the area of scalp being treated. The treatment should be tolerable enough to not have to use anaesthetic/numbing agents.

Why is a numbing agent not used?

We do not apply any product at the treatment site, to avoid any risk of infection or blockage at the root of the hair follicle – which could interfere with the effects of the plasma.

How many sessions are needed?

The number of sessions required depends on the condition being treated and individual response to therapy. For hair restoration, we recommend a course of 4 sessions spaced a few weeks apart. Maintenance sessions may be needed to sustain the results over time.

Is GFC better than PRP?

Depending on your concern GFC could be better suited for you. At Aesthetics Central, GFC is our gold standard plasma which we prepare for hair regrowth & restoration. PRP is beneficial in maintaining, strengthening and improving the health of your hair.

Can PRP or GFC be combined with other treatments?

Yes, combining treatments can enhance results. For instance, it can be paired with hair filler or hair polynucleotides for repairing & regrowth actions. Combination therapy can also benefit hair transplant procedures to improve graft survival and overall hair density. Our staff can help tailor a treatment plan that suits your needs.

Should I have this treatment before or after my hair transplant?

Both! This treatment is good for strengthening and improving your existing donor hair before undergoing surgery. Alternatively, you can come to us after your transplant for quicker recovery rate, tissue repair and healing and increased graft rate of the transplanted hair follicle.
